Imagine a remote countryside
edged on three sides by water - two rivers and the sea -
and a great expanse of sky, sea and marshland. |

This is the Dengie Peninsula, home to wildfowl,
singing birds, farmers and sailing folk, ramblers, horse riders
and a few - just a few - commuters to London, because it is
only an hour or so away by rail and good roads, yet as different
in spirit and appearance as could be. |
